Coalville City owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility or “sewer plant” that treats wastewater from the community. The treatment facility is located at the dead end of 200 North Street just west of Main Street and the Rail Trail. The treatment facility discharges the treated water to Echo Reservoir, by way of Chalk Creek, under a permit issued by the State of Utah.
In 2006, concerns about wastewater treatment capacity led the City to investigate options for expanding the community’s treatment facility.
